Amazon's Fallout TV series is still going on and now has a director
I will not lie. In 2020, when Kilter Films, Bethesda Game Studios, and Amazon announced that the Fallout TV series was in production, I immediately deleted it. It will certainly be another video game TV project that will stumble in development until it is quietly canceled. The whole world would say, “Hey, what happened to that Fallout show?” years later. That’s what video game film and TV development did for me. But in this case I guess I’m wrong because production is going on and now the show has a director.
Those familiar with HBO’s Westworld series will recognize him. He is the man who created and produced this series. That’s Jonathan Nolan, brother of famous director Christopher Nolan (The Dark Night, Inception). First reported by Deadline, Nolan will oversee the premiere of the series going into production this year. Along with this news, the publication also revealed that Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Captain Marvel) and Graham Wagner (Silicon Valley) have been nominated as showrunners.
Nolan, along with Kilter Film’s Lisa Joy and Athena Wickham, will be executive producers for this yet-to-be-named Fallout series. Todd Howard and James Altman of Bethesda will also serve as executive producers.
“Fallout is one of the greatest game series in history.” Nolan and Joy told Deadline in 2020. So we’re excited to work with Todd Howard and the rest of Bethesda’s brilliant lunatics to bring this huge, destructive, dark and fun universe to life with Amazon Studios.”

Back in August of last year, Joy said the series was “a never-before-seen gonzo, crazy, fun, adventurous and mind-blowing.” I still hope so.
