Guilty Gear's Testament works with characters from the second season that appear later
Arc System Works’ tournament Arc Revo America is coming to an end, and there are plenty of announcements about the future, including Guilty Gear Strive.
The final characters of Strive’s first season have been announced and are not what the majority of players expected. The scythe-wielding Goth’s will is back with a slight redesign featuring a new vest, a frilled jabot, and a hat. As with previous iterations, ‘Elegant Grim Reaper’’s attacks have a longer range and now have a demon companion to back them up in battle. Territory hasn’t been on the Guilty Gear roster since they threatened a competitor in Guilty Gear Accent Core Plus R, but it remains to be seen if they can give them an edge on Strive.
With the release of the Will, a new stage, White House Reborn, will be released. After the story mode events of Strive, the building set in the US presidential residence is being reconstructed and “already restored to its position as a center of government.”
Strive players will be able to use it as an a la carte purchase on PS5, PS4, PC Season Pass owners and PC starting March 28th, so it’s just a matter of waiting until they get their hands on The Will and the new White House Reborn stage. . PlayStation players will be available for purchase separately on March 31st.
Also on March 28th is a digital figure mod that lets you place characters, furniture, effects, and more in scenes that you can share with others online. You can also change the character’s facial expression, apply image filters, and change the camera angle for even more creative control over the mode.
It was announced that it would come with the final character launch of the season pass, but the story mode expansion is expected to launch at the end of April. Titled “Another Story,” this new narrative experience will focus on characters that did not appear in the original story mode.

All of the above wraps up the season pass for Guilty Gear Strive, but that’s not the end of the new content coming to the game. Arc System Works has announced that a second season is in the works and that four more characters will be coming to Strive over the next few years. Cross-play between the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC versions of Strive will be added on an uncertain date along with additional server improvements, including better server connection times and network stability in online mode. The reason we don’t know when season 2 will start is obviously because it’s very early. However, we are very happy to know that the game will continue to be supported.
Finally, Arc Revo will continue the return of the Arc World Tour, a global tournament series that has not been active since the start of the pandemic. Guilty Gear Strive will of course be the main game in the competition, but the upcoming Arc System Works game DNF Duel will also co-headline the series of events. With the addition of DNF, we have Nexon, the owner of the Dungeon Fighter Online IP on which the game is based, and a partner to sponsor the Arc World Tour 2022. Winners of local World Tour events will qualify for World Tour Finals and have the opportunity to fight for a portion of the $200,000 prize pool ($100,000 each for both games).
Arc System Works is one of the companies involved in the Japan Fighting Game Publishers Roundtable that opens very early on Monday mornings. You can learn more about the event here. You can hear more about the will and future plans for Guilty Gear Strive from the developers here.
