Halo Infinite launch a little later than expected
If you quit your job on December 8th to play Halo Infinite, especially if you’re not in the US, it’s releasing a little later than expected, so you might want to reconsider.
Eurogamer has mentioned a tomorrow release time for Halo Infinite, and due to the nature of its global release, 343 Industries’ latest sci-fi shooter will release early in some regions and much later in others. Here’s what to expect:
-
West Coast: 10am Pacific Time
-
Central: noon CT
-
East Coast: 1:00 PM EST
-
UK: 6pm GMT
-
Europe: 7pm CEST
-
Hong Kong: 2am HKT (December 9th)
-
Tokyo: 3 am JST (December 9)
-
Australia: 5am AEDT (December 9th)
As you can see, Halo Infinite doesn’t run at the usual midnight tonight (i.e. the moment the clock hits midnight, the game doesn’t go live). As is the case with many titles being released, Halo Infinite will have to wait a little longer.
I mention this because Halo usually knows it’s a series in which people call to work in the hopes of going through the campaign at once or at least in a marathon-like fashion. It is possible to rest on December 8th, but depending on where you are, it may be more valuable to rest on December 9th.
Of course, West Coasters can play Halo Infinite almost all day when they get off work, but for someone on the East Coast, Halo Infinite starts at 1pm, which is half the average working hour. It might be worth working tomorrow, missing the first few hours of Halo launch, and playing the rest of the time after work (until December 9th if you take a break instead).
Eurogamer also records the download size of Halo Infinite. There are two downloads. One for multiplayer (you may have already downloaded it since it’s been live for a few weeks) and one for the campaign. The campaign download requires 62.78 GB of space on your PC, so be prepared. Preloading is only possible on PC, so it’s unclear how much space the campaign will require on the Xbox console.
