Halo TV Series Early Second Season Renewal
Variety reports on Paramount Plus that the Master Chief has a few more missions to go on for the streaming network. The television adaptation Halo, based on the game franchise of the same name, is preparing a second season before the first airs.
With the series’ early renewal, a new Showrunner will replace the collection of Year 2 episodes. David Wiener will lead the show, according to Variety, creator of Brave New World and co-executive producer of Fear the Walking Dead. He will replace former showrunners Kyle Killen (who left Season 1 halfway) and Steven Kane. Kane is known to have left the project after finishing the first season due to “the vast scope of the series” and a two-year production period to film the first episode set due to COVID complications.
There is no word on what threats UNSC and The Master Chief will face in Halo Season 2, and we don’t know until the credits go up in their debut season. Halo returns her roles as Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief/John-117, Natasha McElhone as Dr. Halsey and Jen Taylor as AI Cortana. The show also features Bokeem Woodbine, Shabana Azumi, Bentley Kalou, Natasha Kulzac, Kate Kennedy, Danny Saffany, Olive Gray and Charlie Murphy.
Halo premieres March 24th on Paramount Plus. Check out the latest trailer for the show here and read about the legal drama surrounding Halo that could affect the TV series.
