Hasbro goes all-in on Star Wars Day with numerous collectible announcements
From new TV shows to collectibles, Star Wars fans have a lot to celebrate these days. Unofficially, May 4th, Star Wars Day, always gives you a hint of what’s coming next. Lucasfilm and Disney kicked off the day with a second look at the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi show, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment joined the festivities with the announcement of the LEGO Star Wars DLC and now Hasbro is looking at what we have. Appearing next in Star Wars action figures and collectibles.
The Obi-Wan Kenobi launches later this month, but Hasbro’s focus on products coming later in 2022 has mostly been in the Star Wars past. The reveal came during a short Hasbro Fan First livestream that began with a previously released collection of retro action figures. This set includes Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca and a Stormtrooper.

Then the focus shifted to the classic Black Series figures. Instead of looking at a line based on one movie or show, Hasbro showed off a new Princess Leia figure in an Endor outfit across the map. She arrives in 2023 and can be pre-ordered in retail stores starting tomorrow.

Figrin D’an also receives a Black Series figure. He comes with three instruments and, like the Leia, can be pre-ordered at various retailers starting tomorrow. He arrives in 2023.

Dan won’t play alone. He will be joining his fellow bandmate Nalan Cheel, who is full of gear. Oddly enough, he arrives on the store shelves much earlier than Dan and is expected to arrive in the fall of 2022.

The The Clone Wars animated show was a hit with the release of the 187th Battalion Clone Troopers, who debuted in Season 7. This figure is not available for pre-order, but is expected to be released in Fall 2022.

The smaller vintage collection features a new Trooper Builders Pack based on The Clone Wars. Released this winter, this four-figure pack comes with three standard clone troopers and a blue lieutenant who will lead the charge.

Ahsoka’s 332th Clone Trooper Battalion returns to the vintage collection in a new engraving that comes with two weapons. He will arrive in the spring of 2023.

The last Clone Wars figure is a stylish Mandalorian Super Commando, available for pre-order tomorrow and available in stores this winter.

A younger version of Anakin Skywalker will soon join the vintage collection. If you don’t like his padawan headband, you can throw his cloak over his head. These figures provide both the light side and the dark side of the Force this winter.

In the gaming arena, Hasbro is creating new characters for Star Wars: Shae Vizla of the Old Republic, who obviously likes to wield flamethrowers, and a version of Lando that almost shines in Star Wars Battlefront II.

Stormtroopers, inspired by two video games, is also coming soon. In Star Wars: Force Unleashed, the Stormtrooper Commander appears, with a blue stripe underneath his chest. In Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, you will soon be able to take down training Jedis with the Heavy Assault Stormtrooper. This unit uses a rotating chain gun and an energy shield. No date details were provided for the game figures.

Hasbro’s amazing work on the Mandalorian doesn’t look like it will end anytime soon. During livestreaming, it was revealed that the Black Series would soon be getting a Mandalorian version of Luke Skywalker and the agile assassin droid HK-87 (though neither was shown). The figure in his hand was the shining New Republic Guard. You can pre-order tomorrow, but it won’t be available until early 2023.

The stream ended with the unveiling of two additions: Hasbro’s new Star Wars: The Black Series Pulse Darth Vader helmet and the new Pulse Obi-Wan Kenobi Force FX Elite Lightsaber. Here are the helmet pieces:

Here’s what the lightsaber looks like:

Both the lightsaber and helmet can be pre-ordered tomorrow, May 5th at 1pm. This is Eastern Standard Time and is scheduled for release in the US, Canada, and UK in the spring of 2023.
