Horizon Forbidden West: Meet Guerrilla Games' Upcoming RPG Cast In New Trailer

We’re getting closer to the launch of Horizon Forbidden West, and PlayStation is releasing more and more of the game. Yesterday Guerrilla Games released a new Forbidden West story trailer, you can check out exclusive details we learned about it after talking to the team, and now the studio has released a special “Meet the Cast” trailer.

It begins with an introduction to the protagonist, Aloy’s voice actor, Ashly Burch, who explains that Aloy must embark on a new role as a hero of the world. She also deals with the more hostile aspects of Aloy and Sylens’ relationship. And speaking of Sylens, Lance Reddick returns to the voice of the last character seen in the post-credits scene at the end of Horizon Zero Dawn. He talks about Sylens’ egocentric personality and how that shaped his relationship in Forbidden West.

He also meets Nosir Dalal, the voice actor of Kotalo. Two newcomers to the series, Kotallo meets Aloy at a time when his life is in grave jeopardy. It is Kotallo’s mission to uphold his chief’s cause and plan a peaceful alliance in the Forbidden West. Joining Kotallo as a new character in the Horizon universe, Tilda is voiced by Matrix graduate Carrie-Anne Moss.

“I play a very interesting character named Tilda, who is a very dynamic character,” Moss said in the trailer. “As an artist, you have a lot of freedom to do this. You get caught up in the moment when you get directions from the director and keep trying. I thought it was creative and fun. She has many mysteries to her. I don’t want to say too much, but she’s an interesting character and I loved playing her.”

Next up is Varl, voiced by John Macmillan. As Macmillan noted, Varl is having a “big trip”. He said the writers did a great job developing the characters in Forbidden West. Erend, voiced by John Hopkins, is also back. He tells the story of Aloy’s disappearance at the end of Zero Dawn, which establishes a torn relationship at the beginning of Forbidden West. Macmillan and Hopkins say Varl and Erend’s relationship has advanced considerably in the game as Aloy’s new major ally.

We also get a sneak peek at some of the new concept art for Forbidden West, which you can see below.
