Japan's Fighting Game Development Roundtable 3 will be held on Monday
One of my favorite recently created and thankfully recurring events returns this month in the form of the third Japan Fighting Game Publishers Roundtable. Thanks to Fighters Generation, we know who’s going to be on the panel.
Traditionally, some of the companies involved provide some sort of news or updates about ongoing products or upcoming projects. Announcing plans for new character DLC, first impressions of the trailer, and plans to support additional tournaments, this roundtable provided something exciting in fighting games.

Confirmed guests for this roundtable are:
Akira Nishitani – President/CEO Arika
Osamu Matsumoto - Producer of Street Fighter V for Capcom
Oda Yasuyuki - SNK’s King of Fighters XV Producer
Akira Katano – Director of Guilty Gear Strive at Arc System Works
Daisuke Ishiwatari - Guilty Gear Creator/Producer Arc System Works
Moriji Aoki – Producer of Ultimate Showdown for Virtua Fighter 5: Sega
Katsuhiro Harada - Producer of Namco Bandai Tekken
Given the schedule of the guests involved and the known project schedule, there may be some character announcements for some games, as well as release dates for Fighters that have already been announced. Released in February, King of Fighters XV is expected to release the first DLC character team in March. Team Garou with the Garou Mark of Wolves characters Rock Howard, B. Jenet, and Gato could have an imminent release date right after the developer conference.
Guilty Gear Strive also has one character left on the season 1 roadmap. Given Arc System Work’s release schedule for this season, it’s time to reveal who this fifth and final character will be.
Arica, Capcom, Bandai Namco, and Sega CEOs do not know whether they have something to show or not. Nevertheless, their insight into development, especially in recent years, will be fascinating. However, Sega is the new face of this gathering, and there could be follow-up news to announce with the release of Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown last summer.
