Netflix Trailer Offers First Look at Sonic Prime
Sonic Prime is an upcoming Netflix animated series first announced in February 2021. Haven’t heard much about it since then, and we’re still waiting for a proper trailer, but a new promo video brings us the first trailer.
Netflix has released a montage of trailers promoting the upcoming kid-friendly animated show. Sonic Prime appears at the very end, where Sonic races across the Green Hill Zone and collects the ring. Sonic also speaks and gives fans his first sample of voice actor Deven Mack.
Unfortunately Sonic Prime doesn’t have a premiere date yet. All we know is that the show consists of 24 episodes and centers around Sonic’s fight to save the multiverse from the assumption of fate. Netlfix’s official description of the series describes it as “a journey of self-discovery and redemption.” Other cast members include Ashleigh Ball, Shannon Chan-Kent, Brian Drummond, Vincent Tong, Ian Hanlin, Kazumi Evans, and Adam Narada.
It’s a great time to become a Sonic Hedgehog. His second theatrical film had the best opening weekend of any video game film in history, a third has already been approved, and another animated show derived from that film is coming to Paramount+. He also plans to release two games in 2022. Sonic Origins, a remastered bundle of the classic Sonic game, is coming out in June, and The Hedgehog’s first open world adventure, Sonic Frontiers, is coming later this year.
