Techland Reveals Concept Art for New AAA Open World Fantasy Action RPG

This year, Techland, the creators of Dying Light 2 Stay Human, unveiled the first look of an unreleased fantasy RPG currently in development.

The game, yet to be titled, is officially dubbed ‘AAA Open World Action RPG in Fantasy’, and today’s concept art reveals that very highlight. Featuring beautiful greenery, ancient ruins, and tons of beautiful waterfalls, this fantasy RPG is pretty cool if the concept art suggests it. Techland released the concept art below as a way to inform developers that the studio is hiring and dozens of positions are open for work on this RPG.

Techland says the development team is led by key characters from “the greatest RPG in modern history,” including Karolina Stachyra, narrative director of the Bloody Baron questline for The Witcher III: Wild Hunt, and Arkadiusz Borowik, Witcher III narrative lead. Cyberpunk 2077 Open World Director Bartosz Ochamn, Horizon Zero Dawn Lead Animator Kevin Quaid, Deathloop Lead Game Designer David McClure, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Creative Director Mario Maltezos and more.

Techland CEO Paweł Marchewka said in a press release: “We are very pleased with what we have achieved with the Dying Light franchise so far. “Moreover, our journey with Dying Light 2 Stay Human exceeds the scope and size we have provided to the community after launch. We’re just getting started with plans to support this game for at least 5 years, to the extent that it doesn’t support its predecessor, but at the same time our ambition is to introduce an entirely new IP that is very different from what we’ve been doing in the last few years.

“We want to create a completely next-generation experience. A new fantasy epic set in a vast open world infused with new ideas, passion and creativity, fueled by the skills and experience we’ve gained as a team over the years. We can’t share the details of this project right now, but we are all genuinely invested in this project and looking forward to showing it to gamers when the time comes.”
