This War Of Mine: Final Cut Expands On Modern Consoles' Reversal Titles Next Month
11 Bit Studios’ acclaimed anti-war game, This War of Mine, is revamped and expanded for a re-release on the latest consoles.
Called Final Cut, the game, in which players manage a party of survivors of a war-torn city, launches May 10 for Xbox Series X/S, including PlayStation 5 and Xbox Game Pass. The game boasts 4K resolution. And a reworked UI. It covers the location of the base game in terms of content and introduces new characters, quests, and events.
Additionally, three DLC narrative episodes, This War of Mine: Stories, can be purchased separately on PS5/XSX. This War of Mine: Complete Edition is the bundle with Final Cut and Stories if you want it all.
Poland-based 11 Bit Studios says the ongoing Ukraine/Russian conflict is what motivated them to relaunch This War of Mine and re-promote the anti-war message to a new group of players. The studio recently heavily discounted previous versions of This War of Mine, raising nearly $700,000 for civilian support in Ukraine. 11 Bit CEO Przemek Marszal said in his press release:
“The messages and themes that exist inside This War of Mine have unfortunately been brutally vivid and relevant in recent months. We think it’s especially important to educate people about the reality of war. We are proud that the recent This War of Mine fundraising has helped create a wave of voluntary aid for war victims in Ukraine, and spread the anti-war message more widely with This War of Mine: Final Cut. I hope I can spread it.”
