It’s important to keep in mind what’s going on within Activision Blizzard right now with regards to the ongoing assertion of workplace culture. The ongoing action against the company by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) is a reported harmful workplace culture action. Most of the lawsuits focus on “violations of national citizenship and equal pay laws,” especially regarding the treatment of women and other marginalized groups. Blizzard Entertainment has announced the closing of the rumored Warcraft mobile game, titled Warcraft Arclight Rumble and offering “extensive single-player campaign, co-op, and PvP.”

Unveiled today in a new cinematic trailer that can be seen below, Warcraft Arclight Mobile is a strategy game that will launch for iOS and Android devices in select regions later this year. Blizzard says it was designed from the ground up for mobile devices and is set in the Warcraft universe. As you can see from the trailer below, Warcraft Arclight Rumble seems to be a kind of arcade game where the heroes and villains of the Warcraft universe play at bars and the like.

“In Warcraft Arclight Rumble, players collect over 60 characters from the Warcraft universe and bring them to life in lovingly sculpted tabletop miniatures, and test your armies in competitive player-versus-player mode,” the press release states.

“Easy to learn but fun to master, Warcraft Arclight Rumble will test your ability to effectively overcome the unique challenges of each mission by creating miniature armies. Players start with leaders of armies including Warsong Chief Grommash Hellscream and Warcraft celebrities such as Archmage Jaina Proudmoore, build an army from a mini-collection, and fill their roster with common troop minis and powerful spells. .”

Blizzard says that each single-player mission presents a unique bite-sized strategic puzzle to solve, and players must adjust their tactics in real time to overcome these challenges. In addition to the 70 missions that make up the single-player campaign, players can run dungeons that offer their own challenges.

“Players will also perform tricky cooperative activities (such as raids) and battle opponents in PvP matches, join guilds, chat with colleagues, plan adventures, and collectively reward themselves,” he announced. “Players can simply play the game or purchase from the in-game store to continuously earn in-game currency that they can add to their collection and level up.”

Blizzard said it will release more information about the in-game store at a later date, including pricing and inventory. For more information on Warcraft Arclight Rumble, check out the game’s official website here.
